Selection Process: | The SSC CHSL selection process involves two main tiers: Tier-I and Tier-II. Tier-I is a computer-based exam, while Tier-II includes a descriptive paper and a skill test or typing test. Candidates who qualify in both tiers are then subjected to document verification.
Tier-I (Computer-Based Exam): This is an objective-type computer-based test (CBT). It assesses candidates on General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Candidates need to score above the cut-off to proceed to Tier-II. There is negative marking for incorrect answers.
Tier-II (Descriptive and Skill/Typing Test): This tier includes a descriptive paper and a skill test or typing test. The descriptive paper evaluates writing skills through essays and letters/applications. The skill test or typing test assesses candidates' typing speed and accuracy. For specific positions, a skill test is conducted instead of a typing test. Candidates need to qualify in both the descriptive paper and the skill/typing test. Document Verification: Candidates who successfully clear both Tier-I and Tier-II participate in document verification. This stage verifies the authenticity of the documents submitted by the candidates. Candidates are selected for the desired positions after successful document verification. | |
