The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) is a premier public autonomous engineering and technology university established in 2015. Officially declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India, it belongs to the "third-generation" of IITs and was initially set up under the guidance and mentorship of IIT Madras. 

Located in Merlapaka Village, Yerpedu Mandal along the Yerpedu–Venkatagiri Highway, roughly 22 km away from Tirupati town.

Spanning over 548 acres against a scenic mountain backdrop, the master plan is designed to eventually support a student body of 12,500. The institute successfully completed Phase A of its permanent campus infrastructure development in late 2023.
