GATE 2027 Important Dates:
Registration Opens: September 2, 2026
Regular Registration Closes (No Late Fee): September 27, 2026
Extended Registration Closes (With Late Fee): October 5, 2026
Application Correction Window: October 14 – 21, 2026
Exam City Allotment Notification: January 4, 2027
Admit Card Download: To be announced (Early January 2027)

GATE 2027 Application Fees:
The Application Fee for the GATE 2027 is Rs. 1000/- for the SC, ST, PWD, and Female Candidates. The application fee for the rest of the categories (Gen, EWS, OBC) is Rs. 2000/-. The candidates can pay the GATE 2027 Application fee in online mode.
The application fee in the extended period i.e. from 28 September to 05 October 2026 is Rs. 1500/- for SC, ST, PWD, and Females. The application Fee for General, EWS, and OBC candidates in the extended period is Rs. 2500/-.
Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have completed any government approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2027

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a prestigious national-level examination that assesses candidates for a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities for admission to various Master’s and Doctoral Programs and Recruitment by some Public Sector Undertakings.
1. Admission
Valid GATE score can be used for seeking admission to:
· Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities; and
· Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
2. Financial Assistance
Qualifying GATE score can be used for seeking financial assistance towards:
· Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities; and
· Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Financial Assistance given to M.Tech students is Rs. 12,400 per month and is generally paid for 22 months. PG Scholarship (GATE/GPAT)
Financial Assistance given for Ph.D. programs (Direct Ph.D. after B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Sc equivalent with a valid GATE score) is Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year.
3. Recruitment
Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using the GATE score in their recruitment process. A list (not exhaustive) of such PSUs is provided below:

· Upload the required documents, Photograph, Signature, etc.
