Officer in Gr B (DR) – General | Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹78,450/-p.m. in the pay scale of ₹78450-4050(9)-114900-EB-4050(2)-123000-4650(4)-141600 (16years) applicable to Officers in Grade ‘B’ and they will also be eligible for Special Allowance, Grade Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, Learning Allowance, House Rent Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments (without HRA) are ₹1,54,936/- (approximately). The House Rent Allowance of 15% of Pay will be paid, if accommodation is not provided by the Bank. Selection Process: | The selection process for the posts of Officer in Gr B will be based on Online Examination and Interviews. The RBI Grade B officer selection process consists of three main stages: a qualifying Phase I objective exam, a merit-based Phase II descriptive/objective exam, and a final Interview. The final selection is based on the combined scores of Phase II and the Interview, with candidates needing to pass each stage to move forward. 1. Phase I - Online Examination (Prelims) Nature: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions) and qualifying in nature. Sections: General Awareness, Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. Total Marks: 200 Marks. Duration: 120 minutes. 2. Phase II - Online Examination (Mains) Nature: Both objective and descriptive questions. This phase is crucial for the final merit list. Papers:Paper I: Economic & Social Issues (Objective & Descriptive). Paper II: English (Descriptive - Writing Skills). Paper III: Finance & Management (Objective & Descriptive). 3. Interview Candidates qualifying in Phase II are called for an interview. Marks: 75 points (some sources suggest 50 marks, but 75 is common for recent cycles). Assessment: Evaluates the candidate's personality, communication skills, and overall suitability. Final Selection: Final Merit: The final selection is determined by adding the scores from Phase II and the Interview (out of 375 marks). | |
