The JEE Advanced 2026 exam
will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, conducted by IIT Roorkee. It is a
computer-based test comprising two compulsory papers (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and
2:30 PM – 5:30 PM). Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates qualifying from JEE Main
2026 are eligible. Registration begins in April 2026.

Eligibility: Candidates
must be among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026, born on or after October 1,
2001 (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD), and passed Class XII for the first time
in 2025 or 2026
.
Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a
maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
Syllabus: The syllabus remains consistent with previous
years, covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (Class 11 & 12).
Important Notes:
Both papers are mandatory.
The exam determines admission to
IITs and, as of 2026, includes JoSAA seat allocation for IISc Bangalore.
Candidates must have appeared
for Class XII (or equivalent) for the first time in either 2025 or 2026.
Registration
for JEE Advanced 2026 for Indian nationals opens on April 23,
2026, and closes on May 2, 2026. The exam is scheduled for Sunday, May 17,
2026, organized by IIT Roorkee. Foreign national candidates can begin
registration earlier on April 7, 2026.
Candidates must qualify in the
top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main 2026 to be eligible for registration.
