AISSEE-2026 NOTIFICATION:
AISSEE-2026 for the Academic Year (AY) 2026-27, covers admission to Classes VI
and IX of Sainik Schools and Class VI for all 69 New Sainik Schools and Class
IX of those approved 19 New Sainik Schools, which have progressed to Class IX
in AY 2026-27.The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is a
pivotal examination for students seeking admission to Sainik Schools across
India. The AISSEE-2026 notification has just been released, and it’s time for
aspiring candidates and their parents to gear up for an exciting journey ahead.
Candidates can apply for
AISSEE-2026 “Online” only on the website
https://exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/. The Application Form other
than online mode will not be accepted.
Only one application is to be
submitted by a candidate. Application form is common for admission to both
Sainik Schools and approved New Sainik Schools. Fee as stated above is the same
whether a candidate applies for Sainik Schools/approved New Sainik Schools or
both.
If a candidate submits more than
one Application Form for admission at the same level (either class VI or Class
IX), all his/her Application Forms shall summarily be rejected.

ELIGIBILITY:
Eligibility for admission to
Class VI:
Age: Between 10-12 years of age,
as on 31.03.2026. Should be born between 01.04.2014 and 31.03.2016 (Both days
inclusive)
Eligibility for admission to
Class IX: Age: Between 13-15 years of age, as on 31.03.2026. Should be born
between 01.04.2011 and 31.03.2013 (Both days inclusive)
Girls are eligible to apply.
RESERVATION OF SEATS: 66.6% seats for Home States Students and 33.3% seats for Other States Students

Candidate can choose any of the 13 languages listed in the Information
Bulletin, for Class VI only. However, for Class IX, medium is English only.

AISSEE 2026 SELECTION PROCESS:
1. AISSEE-2026 written exam: On
the designated date, candidates must show up for the OMR-based admission exam.
2. Requirements for
Qualification: To be considered for the merit list, candidates typically need
to receive at least 25% in each subject and 40% overall. SC/ST candidates for
current Sainik Schools are exempt from this criterion.
3. E-Counselling & Merit
List: NTA creates a merit list for each school, class, and category. The
rank obtained in the Merit List through a required e-counselling process is the
sole basis for admission.
4. Verification of Medical
Fitness and Documents: Candidates chosen through e-counselling must be in
good health and successfully finish the school’s verification process for all
original papers, including caste, age, and place of residence.

APPLICATION STEPS:
1. Visit https://exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/.
2. Click on "New Registration" and fill details.
3. Upload documents, pay fee, submit form.
4. Download confirmation.

011-40759000, 011-69227700. Help Desk will be open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm,
Monday to Saturday. They can also write to NTA at aissee@nta.ac.in Candidates
are advised to quote their application number, email ID and mobile number in
their correspondence with NTA or the respective schools.
